Store your Uncontrolled Project, Contact and Contract Admin documents

What's new

1. Documents tab - new style of documents tab is available in Projects, Contacts, and the Contract Administration module for all Synergy Enterprise and Foundation clients.
2. Performance - New style of documents tab delivers speed improvements designed to allow you to quickly work on large sized project folders.
3. Folders - view the list of sub folders within the project (or contact/contract) in the documents tab that matches what is shown in Windows Explorer. Add a new folder from within the documents tab.
4. Search - select a default image in the Documents tab to be shown on the Project General tab.
5. Preview - view the contents of your documents in the preview pane without opening the file. File types supported are: PDF, MS Word® docx, image files (i.e. JPEG, PNG), and email messages.
6. Default Project Image - set a default image in the Documents tab to be shown on the Project General tab.

Why use it - store all your documents in a central location and quickly access the files for use within Synergy.

Controlled documents and the Outlook plugin

What's new

1. Outlook plugin - new style outlook plugin makes it easier to file emails to Synergy and configure your email filing defaults.
2. Multi select rows - select multiple files to import/export into the controlled documents library.
3. List check-outs and read-only - list all the files in the open Project/Contact/Contract that have been checked out of the controlled documents libary, or have had a local read-only copy stored on a users computer.
4. Archive multiple controlled files - export all controlled files to be archived in the uncontrolled library. This action automatically creates a zip file for each controlled document which contains all the versions for that controlled document.
5. Global controlled documents - search all controlled documents within all projects, contacts or contract admin. View a list of all checked-out or read-only copies of documents across the entire Synergy database.

Why use it - easily file emails to Synergy controlled library to enable document versioning.

Map Synergy records to your Xero Tracking Categories

What's new

1. Xero Connect wizard - select what Synergy records will be mapped against each Xero Tracking Category. Choose which Synergy Project, Sub Project or Contact record field will be shown on each invoice or expense sent to Xero.
2. Xero Connect preview - view the tracking category details that will be sent to Xero for each invoice, credit note, supplier expense and staff expense.

Note: Connect is an add-on module. Contact the Synergy Team to find out more.

Why use it - group invoice or expense data in Xero reports by the tracking category options.

Use Email Templates to create the email message

What's new

1. Email wizard style- select which email template will create the body and subject of the message and choose which Project Contacts or Internal Staff will receive the email message.
2. Send Email from - new style wizard is available throughout Synergy in areas such as Project Contacts, Project Documents, Project Invoices, Global Documents, Reports, Contacts and Personnel lists.

Why use it - easily create emails by letting Synergy generate the email body and subject line of the email message.

Changes within the Resource Management module

What's new

1. Work Breakdown - define a percent complete for each work breakdown item.
2. Capacity Report - new style of capacity report added, showing the Capacity and Allocated values for the selected month. The graph instantly refreshes after adding new planning board appointments.

Why use it - check the progress of each work breakdown item using the percent complete; view the resource availability in the new style capacity report.

Changes within the Drawing Register and Transmittals module

What's new

1. Copy Project Documents - pick or search for documents in the project folder and add the selected files to the drawing register using the new style documents interface.
2. Transmittal Approvals - select if the MS Word® document and ZIP package file will be created when the transmittal is approved.
3. Batch Processing- the batch process creates the transmittal MS Word® document and ZIP package file in the background after the transmittal is approved. This allows you to keep using Synergy while these files are being created.

Why use it - easily add existing project files to the drawing register and keep working in Synergy on other tasks while the transmittal approval process is being finalised.

Add extra bookmarks to your existing Document Templates

What's new

1. Proposal - add bookmarks to the fee detail table - budget section to show the budget task details and any budget notes entered.
2. Invoice - add bookmarks to the fee detail table - totals section to show a summary of what has been invoiced to date for the project, the overall invoice total value, and this invoice value.
3. Project - add the Invoice Contact or Personnel bookmarks to include an address or attention to field for the invoice contact on a project document.
4. Contract Admin - add the Contract Scope of Works bookmark to show an overview of the contract.
5. Transmittals - Display the drawing percent complete and date the transmittal version was created on the transmittal summary document.

Why use it - update your existing document templates with these commonly requested bookmarks.

Highlight colours shown in the topic after searching

What's new

1. Search highlight colours - each keyword you search for in Synergy Help will be highlighted in a different colour within the help topic opened from the search results.
2. Remove search highlight - use the toolbar button to remove the search highlight colours.

Why use it - find your search words more easily inside the help topic by viewing the highlighted text.

Create a list of your most used Contract (My Contracts List)

What's new

1. Pinned Contract - select which Contracts you want to pin. These are the most used Contracts and will allow you to create a favourites list similar to the My Projects List.
2. Default list filter - use the default list filter option to always start with your Pinned Contracts List.

Note: Contract Administration is an add-on module. Contact the Synergy Team to find out more.

Why use it - create a list of your favourite Contracts.

What's new

1. MYOB - Version 19.9 supported by Synergy Connect.
2. Reckon Accounts (Quickbooks) - Reckon Accounts Premier 2013 version supported by Synergy Connect.

Redesign of the cloud sync application

What's new

1. New design - use the new style cloud sync application which displays each step completed when sync-ing your database to Microsoft Windows Azure.
2. Error reporting - available in Event Viewer on the Synergy server in the Windows > Application log.

Why use it - run the cloud sync process on the Synergy server to sync your desktop database to the cloud.
