Tip:
Define the settings of how Synergy will connect to your Xero company datafile, and define the Xero Connect Wizard rules for the sync. Settings available are to export Synergy Contacts and Staff details, and export Synergy Invoice and Credit Note details, export Synergy Supplier Expense details, and to export Synergy Staff Expense details for Cash and Travel expenses. In addition choose if invoice payments should be exported from Synergy to Xero, or imported from Xero into Synergy.
Check the data in the Preview window before it is created within Xero, and view the details of preview Xero Connect sync runs using the Reports. The Reports display the data sent in the sync, and stores which settings were used in the wizard when the sync was run.
The Xero Connect Wizard will transfer the Synergy invoice, credit, payment, and expenses data and automatically create matching records in Xero.
The Synergy user must have a Xero access level of 'Standard' or 'Financial Advisor' to authorise the transfer data from Synergy to the Xero company datafile.
If the Synergy user has the access level of 'None', 'Read only', or 'Invoice only' in Xero they are unable to complete the authorisation of the company datafile.
All Xero access levels can create and authorise connection to a Demo Company datafile. Use the Demo Company datafile to test the Xero Connect Wizard settings before performing the first sync.

Tip: Only one Synergy user should sync to the same datafile using Synergy Xero Connect at a time. Do not run the sync from two computers to the same datafile at the same time.
The connection to Xero is established using a confirmation code. The confirmation code is provided by Xero within the Xero browser window, and is copied and pasted into Synergy Xero Connect to establish the connection. Synergy uses this code to keep an open connection to Xero for 30 minutes and transfer data into Xero using an API interface.

Click the image above to see the authorisation code in the Synergy Connect Wizard.
Once Synergy Xero connect Wizard is closed, the connection to Xero is closed too. This means if you want to use the Wizard again, you will need to request a new confirmation code from Xero.
The connection to Xero will expire if you keep the Connect Wizard open for more than 30 minutes. When the confirmation code expires you will be returned to the Synergy Wizard Connection screen and prompted to request a new confirmation code.
On the Xero Connect Home screen click the 'Disconnect' button to end the current connection to Xero.
The following settings can be entered once the connection to a Xero database has been established by entering a confirmation code. The last used settings will be saved by the wizard for you to reuse the next time you run Xero Connect.
Use the General Settings screen to select the 'From Date'. Set the 'From Date' by selecting the calendar button and choosing a date in the drop down calendar, or type the date into the field.
The 'From Date' is used to select which invoices, credit notes, payments, and expenses data will be sent to Xero in the sync. Items created before the start date are not sent.
The 'From Date' in the Xero Connect Wizard looks at the following fields in Synergy:
Choose if the contact details from Synergy will be sent to Xero. Contacts and Staff sent in the sync are matched on Name and Card ID number. Updates to the contact record in Synergy are also sent to Xero. This keeps both system in sync with each other so that the general contact data will match between Synergy and Xero.
A Card ID is mandatory to be entered in Synergy for each Staff and Contact that are included in the sync. Ensure this is entered on all Synergy Contacts by enabling the Contact Card ID System Setting.
