This option is available when you are entering historical invoices and require to enter the actual invoice number issued to your client. NOTE the length will need to be as per the Office settings for invoice numbering.
There are 2 views in which we can create invoices. The wizard works through each aspect of the invoice by screen, where as the form contains all data on the one screen.
This function is used in conjunction with Pre-billing and Revenue Recognition in the Post Invoice Maintenance module.
Locking the Invoices indicates that nobody can edit the value of the transactions attached to an invoice (Revenue Recognition) nor can they detach/attach transactions to an Invoice (Pre-bill). Only a Director, System Administrator or Administrator can unlock an Invoice.
A setting exists to include the Invoice Number in the subject line, when creating a PDF email. This is done from the Project Invoices tab.
Tip: This setting is ignored when email templates are used. The subject line of the email will automatically be the subject entered in the email template. To learn more about template, view the setup email templates topic.
