Create documents linked to communications

There are a number of ways to create different types of correspondence through Synergy. This method is generating a MS Word® document via Document Links

Tip: Templates can be downloaded if they are not setup.

Where are document links available?

Document links can be attached to the following areas in Synergy:

Contract Notices

Contract > Notices tab > Open Notice

Notes

My Synergy > Notes > Open Note > select Document links tab

Create MS Word® documents

Once this is done a MS Word® document can be generated and therefore attached to the item as a Document Link:

  1. Select Document Links > Template.
  2. Select an Available MS Word® Template.
  3. Set the Save mode.
  4. Enter a File name.
  5. Select Create.

Available MS Word® templates

Templates available for the area you are attaching Document links will display. For example if you're attaching Document links to a Note, then Note template types will be available to select. If you have not registered a template with this type, the template can be downloaded.    

Save mode

The following options are available on the save modes:

  File Name Directory

Create and open the MS Word® document

  • Document is generated in MS Word®.

  • User then required to save to a Projector Contract directory.  

  • Document can then be Saved/Printed as PDF to ensure there is a MS Word® document and also a PDF version.

 

 

Create, save and open the MS Word® document

  • Document is generated in MS Word®.

  • Document is saved to the directory as set on the Project or Contract.  

  • Document can then be Saved/Printed as PDF to ensure there is a MS Word® document and also a PDF version.

 

 

Create, save as PDF and open

  • Document is generated in PDF format only, no MS Word® document is saved.

  • Document is saved to the directory as set on the Project or Contract.

 

 

File name

Provide a file name for the document, by default this will be the name of the document template.

Directory

The directory path for the Project or contract will be displayed. If the document is not to be saved to this location, use the Save mode 'Create and open the Word document'. 

Automatically add a link to the new document

Checking this option while you're within the MS Word® Document Creation window, will enable you to directly open the document by double clicking the file name.
