Upgrade the PC

After the upgrade has been completed on the Synergy database server, the desktop PC's in the office will need to be upgraded. The users will need to have Local Administrator rights to complete this upgrade process. The upgrade of the desktop PC's can also be completed using the Synergy MSI Installer.

ClosedStep 1: Login to the PC with Local Admin rights

Please login to the PC using an account with Administrator rights, before beginning the Synergy upgrade process.

ClosedStep 2: Prerequisites install

The setup process will download all the Synergy prerequisites automatically, if they are not installed .

ClosedStep 3: Synergy PC Upgrade Process

Complete the following steps to complete the Synergy upgrade on the PC.

  1. Open Synergy Practice Management. Double click the Synergy desktop icon to open the application.
  2. Login to Synergy using the normal user login details for the PC.
  3. Click Yes to start the PC upgrade.

  1. Click Yes to the 'Perform an Upgrade' message that appears. This will launch the installation wizard.

  1. Click Next. The latest version of Synergy will be installed.

  1. If User Account Control is enabled on your Windows PC (Vista or higher), then click Yes to allow the installation process.

  1. The installation process will begin, and take a few minutes to complete. Click Finish on the 'Install wizard completed window.

  1. You can now re-open Synergy Practice Management on the PC, and login.

Tip: If a remote PC is pending an upgrade, locate the installer and send it direct to the remote PC and install Synergy using the setup.exe - locate this by going to the Install step by step instructions.
