SQL 2012 Management Studio - Server Install

SQL 2012 Express Installed Or an alternate supported version of SQL installed	System Administrator	Microsoft SQL Server 2012 Management Studio

The files can be downloaded from Support in Synergy Cloud Services. Please use the links below to download the installation files:

• 64 bit SQL2012_ManagementStudio_x64_ENU.exe OR 
• 32 bit SQL2012_ManagementStudio_x86_ENU.exe

Unzip this file to your server and then proceed with the Install Instructions.

Download the SQL 2012 Management Studio Installer from the Microsoft website:

http://www.microsoft.com/en-au/download/details.aspx?id=29062

 

Choose one of the following files from the list:

• 64 bit Installer - ENU\x64\SQLManagementStudio_x64_ENU.exe
• 32 bit Installer - ENU\x86\SQLManagementStudio_x86_ENU.exe

Locate the installation file that you downloaded, and launch the SQL 2012 Management Studio installer file. This installer file will be named either:

• 64 bit Installer - SQL2012_ManagementStudio_x64_ENU.exe
• 32 bit Installer - SQL2012_ManagementStudio_x86_ENU.exe

Select 'New SQL Server stand-alone installation or add features to an existing installation’.

Click the image above to view the commence installation screen.

If any updates are available for SQL Server 2012 these will be listed. Select any updated which will be installed, then click next.

The installation of the setup software required to for SQL 2012 Management Studio will commence. This process will take a few minutes to complete.

Click the image above to view the Install Setup Files screen.

Select 'Perform a new installation of SQL Server 2012', and then click Next.

Click the image above to view the Installation Type screen.

Check the 'I accept the license terms' box to agree to the Microsoft license terms, then click Next.

Click the image above to view the License Terms screen.

Check the box to install 'Shared Features > Management Tools - Basic', and then click Next.

Click the image above to view the Feature Selection screen.

Click Next.

Click the image above to view the Error Reporting screen.

The install process will be shown on screen, this may take a few minutes.

Click the image above to view the Installation Progress screen.

Check the results show that SQL has been installed successfully. Click Close to exit the install wizard.
