New Enhancement Maintenance
Project Copy > Tasks and colours copy. The colours applied to the project, and sub projects are copied using project copy. In addition the active only tasks list is copied to the new sub project, the 'sub project specific tasks' setting is retained, and budget notes are included in the copied project budget.
Transmittal > Document template. Change the document template assigned to an approved or sent transmittal, and re-print the transmittal summary document in a new template format to send to your clients.
Project Audit > Transmittals. Changes to the template assigned to the transmittal are tracked in the project audit.
Timesheet Approvals > Project Status. If timesheet approvals is switched ON, then when changing the project status to complete or unsuccessful any 'pending approval' timesheets that exist will be automatically approved and written off. A warning message is shown to advise if this will happen when updating the project or sub project status.
Invoicing > Assign draft invoice numbers. Assign an invoice number to any draft invoice, to have all the invoice details shown for review by your internal finance team before it is finalised and sent to your client. Click on the blue text 'Invoice #' on the invoice create screen to assign the number to the draft invoice.
Invoice Maintenance List > Draft Search. Type the keyword 'draft' into the search for invoice number field, and any invoice at the draft status will be returned. This applies to invoices with or without a draft invoice number assigned.
Sub Projects > Change of fee type. Invoiced sub projects now allow the fee type to be changed to any fee type except for 'no billing'. All fee type changes are tracked in the Project Audit. The fee type change is not allowed if draft invoices exist for the sub project, or if construction costs are being used. When changing to the fee types 'fixed fee', 'percent of project', or 'capped rates' the fee value entered must be equal or higher to the total invoiced value for the sub project.
Sub Projects > % complete. Change the % complete on the general tab of the sub project. This field can be seen for 'fixed fee' and 'percent of project' fee types.
Project Plan > Work Breakdown tab. The separate grouping for time and expenses within a sub project has been removed. Due to this we have been able to add totals in the Units and Hours columns. For each phase or sub project the units column totals the expenses, and the hours column totals the time.
Transmittal > ZIP package file. Enhanced to ensure that all the RVT files created from Revit 2015 edition are within a transmittal ZIP package file.
Invoice create > Sub project select. The sub project selection window will always be shown when creating an invoice. The invoice creation wizard will not hide the sub project pop-up if you cancel the invoice creation process, and then re-try creating the invoice straight away.
Invoices > Pre-Billing. Pre-Billing placeholders are no longer created for a value of $0.00 against a sub project when the credit note method 'adjust the invoice lines' to return transactions to WIP is used. Pre-billing placeholder transactions are only created when a dollar value needs to be reflected against the sub project for transaction level reports.
Project List > Project number sorting. When a numerical only project number sequence is used (i.e. no alpha characters and only number), when sorting on project number in the list the results are shown in numerical order, even if the 0's padding number setting is not enabled.
Project Phases > Delete security. Extra security has been added to ensure that a phase group cannot be deleted if it has been used on a Project invoice.
Sub Project Create > Using Sub Project templates. The 'specific rates' indicator is retained when creating a sub project from template, when the rates attached to the sub project template are supplier and sub contractor mark-up’s that are unchanged from the default mark-up values. This allows the sub project template to be created to stop people entering any items other than expenses against a sub project.
Project Image > Select. Choose an image from the project folder to be the project image on the General tab. Image file extensions which are lower and upper case are both now supported. |
Actions > Merge Duplicate Contacts. Combine contact in Synergy together, and all items linked to the deleted contact record are automatically moved to the master contact record that is kept. This makes is easy to clean-up your contact list.
Create > contact name look-up. A check for duplicate records has been added, when creating a new contact record. Type part of the contact name (company or individual first/last name) and similar existing contact records are shown in a drop down list. Click on one of the items in the list to open the record and check if it is the same contact you are trying to create.
Personnel tab. Use the new 'position' column in a company contact, to know which staff at the company contact to call/email about your query. |
Administration > Rate Summary Report. System Administrators can use the new 'Rate Summary Report' available in the download report library to view the specific rates set on each Project or Sub Project. The report output is sent to MS Excel® and a separate tab is created to show the current rates from each rate group to compare to the specific rates set on each Project/Sub Project.
Projects > Project Directory. The 'Project' type reports have an extra column available for 'Project Directory'. This allows you to check where all of the Synergy Project Folders are located, with standard folder paths or custom folder paths.
Projects > Forecasting Reports. The forecasting reports at Project and Sub Project level now have an extra filter group called 'Forecast Filters'. Use the forecast filters to exclude $0 forecasts, or setup a comparison between two forecast financial fields.
Sub Project > Phase details. Add either columns or filters for Phases into your Synergy reports. Phases can be added to reports in the Sub Project group, Transaction group, or the Invoice Detail reports in the Practice group. The 'phase' column can be found in the sub project grouping of columns or filters. |
MYOB AccountRight Live Connect > Support for 2015.1 added. Synergy Connect for now supports the 2015.1 release of MYOB AccountRight Live.
MYOB Connect > Support for MYOB NZ V19.5. Support has been added for MYOB NZ V19.5. Choose this option in Connect settings in the 'Export Settings - Version' field. The other settings in MYOB Connect (Classic) V19 are the configured in the same way as the Australia MYOB Connect add-on.
Xero Connect > Negative sub project lines. When invoices are created that include a negative total value for a sub project, these are sent to Xero and shown on Xero invoices as a negative line. Previously these were sent as a credit note that needed to be applied to the invoice in Xero. Negative sub projects values on invoices are created to display a discount amount that is provided to the client.
MYOB AccountRight Live Connect > Negative sub project lines. When invoices are created that include a negative total value for a sub project, these are sent to MYOB AccountRight Live and shown on MYOB invoices as a negative line. Previously these were sent as a credit note that needed to be applied to the invoice in MYOB. Negative sub projects values on invoices are created to display a discount amount that is provided to the client.
MYOB Connect Classic V19 > Supplier expense filters. The supplier expense filters have been enhanced for MYOB Connect V19 (Classic). The filter allow you to select several office locations and filter out related supplier expense data from being sent to an MYOB company file. This is useful in a multi MYOB company file environment.
MYOB AccountRight Live Connect > Invoices sync. Updated the invoice terms shown to cater for the new MYOB 2014.4 release and the updated API. The payment terms for an invoice entered in Synergy will appear with the same number invoice due days in MYOB on a transferred invoice.
MYOB AccountRight Live Connect > Invoices sync. When sending Synergy invoice data to an MYOB cloud company file, extra checks have been put in place in Synergy Connect to ensure that if the MYOB API is slow to respond that the same invoices are not sent twice. In some cases the MYOB API interface was returning odd data to Synergy with the 2014.4 release, and extra checks have been put in place to ensure that this doesn't cause any issues.
Xero Connect > Credit Notes. Credit notes created using the 'adjust the invoice lines' method in Synergy can be transferred to Xero by Synergy Connect. All other Synergy credit note methods can also be transferred to Xero via Connect as normal after the API change.
MYOB AccountRight Live Connect > Preview the sync. When no items exist in MYOB in the date range, the preview of the sync can be shown successfully. This stops the error 'Nullable Object must have value' error being shown by the MYOB API when there are no invoices or expenses existing in MYOB after the start date entered in Synergy Connect. |
Staff and Application Security > Notes. Notes entered against a Staff record have stricter security applied. The notes can only be seen in the Staff record, and are not able to be found in the global note search (My Synergy). This ensures the staff notes can only be read by the Synergy users with the appropriate access levels (Director or System Administrator). |
Document Templates > Proposal templates. Proposal document templates have an additional table to your fee proposals to display the sub project notes and sub project attribute details. This new table can be found in the bookmarks list called 'proposal sub projects table'.
Document Templates > Credit Notes. The fee detail table in the 'credit note' type template lets you to include 'capped rates' fee types in the sub project breakdown for the credit note document. For projects with phases the 'mixed phase' grouping row has been added to allow you to display phase detail on a credit note document.
Document Templates > Invoice templates. The invoice claim lines table now allows you to add the bookmark 'phase name' into the body of the table. This allows you to show both phase and sub project details on this invoice table.
Document Templates > Sub Project tables. The Sub Project table now allows you to include 'Phase Name' bookmarks. The Sub Project table is available for use in Proposal, Project, Letter, and Invoice templates.
Document Templates > Action > Convert to DOCX. Create Word documents from Synergy templates faster by converting them to the DOCX file format. Any DOCX format templates will use the new faster document creation engine. All new templates are now automatically created in the DOCX file format.
Synergy Help Files > Responsive layout. The desktop and Synergy Cloud Services help files have been updated to use a new responsive layout. This allows the help files to be easily read and navigated on a tablet, mobile phone or a desktop PC.
User Settings > Library tab. Spelling mistake in the local documents settings label has been corrected.
Database Menu > Login required. The options in the Database menu require a login by a System Administrator or Administrator before they can be used. |
