Projects

Project > Drawing Register. Create a list of the drawings or documents that will be created for each Sub Project, link the entry to a file in the Synergy Project Folder, and select which version of the file can be sent to the Project Contacts on a Transmittal Summary Document. Quickly create the initial drawing register by using the copy from templates feature.

Project > Transmittals. Select which drawing register items will be sent, and which project contacts or internal staff they will be sent to. A transmittal summary document is created from the Synergy document template, and a Zip package file which contains all of the selected drawings or documents. The document and package file can be sent out using a Synergy email template.

Project > Transmittals Approval Process. If Approvals is enabled then only Project Manager or higher access levels can 'Approve' a transmittal to be sent out to the Project Contacts. User or Assistant Project Manager access levels will need to submit the draft transmittal for approval to be sent out. Alerts will be shown in the My Synergy dashboard alerts plugin for the approval process.

Project > Transmittals Summary. View the history of all the created transmittals for the project in a grid format. The data shown on the grid can be exported to MS Excel® to create a Transmittal Summary Document that displays the transmittal history for the project.

Project > Transmittal MS Excel® Template. Customise the MS Excel® template used to create the Transmittal Summary Document that shows the history of previous transmittals.

Project > Documents. The default tab within the Documents tab is the Drawing Register. To view what documents exist within the Controlled and Uncontrolled libraries select the Sub Tab Documents.

Project > Sub Projects > General Tab. Set the Drawing Number Prefix that will be used by default when copying in new drawing rows for the Sub Project.

Project > Audit Trail. Track what changes or deletion of rows have occurred within the Project Drawing Register. The Transmittal creation process, steps within the approval workflow, and transmittals amendments and deletions are all tracked in the Project Audit.

Project >Project Copy > Drawing Register. Include the copy the drawing register, when copying an existing project to create a new project record.

Project > Schedule > Capacity. The project capacity graph has a new style applied, to show the allocated time and capacity time available as separate columns in the graph.

Project > Resource Management > Capacity. The company wide capacity graph has a new style applied, to show the allocated time and capacity time available as separate columns in the graph.

Project > Sub Project > Add Sub Projects using Templates. When adding sub projects using templates, the drawings defined within the template will be automatically added to the Drawing Register if the prefix has been defined on the General Tab of the Sub Project Template. The drawings check box is marked if drawings exist in the template.
Project > Sub Project > Add Sub Projects using Templates. The Sub Project colour is applied from the template if the Resource and Capacity Management module is enabled (*Synergy Enterprise clients only). The colour selected on the template is also shown on the sub project and budget tasks shown in the work breakdown structure tab.

Project > Invoices. When Project Phases is enabled, any updates to the invoice whilst it is in Draft mode will always updated the phase charge values on the draft invoice.

Project > Attributes. When creating a new project the attributes tab is not automatically populated. This allows the user to select the required attribute values before saving the project.
Project > Add Sub Projects using Templates. The speed to add a new sub projects with the add from sub project templates feature has been improved to make this process faster.
Project > Audit Trail. The project audit trail tracks which user has archived or restored a project, and when this action was performed.

My Synergy

Transmittal Alerts. Activate Transmittal approvals and view the new alerts for Transmittals that are Submitted, or Declined, or Approved but not sent. These alerts are shown the Project Manager or higher access levels in the My Synergy dashboard plugin.

Search. Search the entire Synergy database for a Transmittal Number, Drawing Number, Drawing Title, and Transmittal External ID.

Reports

Transmittal and Drawing Reports. Use the new Drawing Register and Transmittal Synergy Reports. The new reports stored within the Projects reports group are Transmittal Drawings Report, Transmittal Report, Transmittal Staff Report, Transmittal Contacts Report, and Drawing Register Report.

Management Reports. The last used setting for Line or Bar graph is saved for all Management reports, and a new check box has been added to each of the filters to select/deselect all entries. A new colour scheme has also been applied to the management report graphs.

Contacts

Edit Card ID's. Xero Connect users will be able to auto assign Card ID's numbers to all Contact records. The card id number assigned is unique, and can also not be assigned to any Synergy staff record.

Timesheets

Submit Timesheet > Auto write-off transaction. When a staff record has the 'auto complete timesheet' option unchecked, and the sub project fee type is set to be automatically written off, then the timesheet entry is manually submitted in Time & Expenses will be written-off when the transaction is saved.

Default Data

Drawing Register Default Data. Define what will be available in drop down lists within the drawing register fields: Document types, file type, drawing number prefix, sizes, and scales.

Drawing Templates. Create a list of commonly created drawings or document, which can be copied into the Drawing Register for any Sub Project.

Transmittals Default Data. Define what will be in the drop down list when creating Transmittals for the Sending Method, and Sending Reason fields.

Timesheet Tasks. A task can have the same name within different timesheet task groups and be available in drop down lists throughout Synergy. However a duplicate named task cannot exist within the same <Office> Sub Project or PROJECT group.

Practice

Composite Rates renamed to Budget Templates. The function Composite Rates has been renamed to Budget Templates. The function Composite Rate Groups has been renamed to Budget Template Types..

Budget Templates > Drawings Tab. Add a list of drawings or documents which will created for the Budget Template. The rows on the drawings tab of the budget template can be copied into the Project Drawing Register.

Staff and Application Security > Edit Card ID's. The auto allocation of Card ID's has been enabled for Xero Connect users. The card id number assigned is unique, and can also not be assigned to any Synergy contact record.
Staff and Application Security > Connect or Contract Admin Users. If you have purchased the Contract Administration module, or the Connect module you may have new options to choose which staff members are the named users to have access to these functions. These settings are available on the General tab of the staff record.

Administration Tools

Document Templates > Transmittal Type. Setup document templates for use within the Project > Transmittal feature. Transmittal documents are used to create a summary to show what drawings are sent to the project contacts.

Document Templates > MS Office® Support. Support added for MS Office® 2013 to be used with document templates to create both MS Word® and PDF output.

Document Templates > Project Type. Add a table displaying the details from the Drawing Register on your existing Project Document Templates.

Document Templates > Grouping within data tables. Grouping can be added to the reporting tables that are displayed on document templates. Up to two levels of grouping can be applied to the tables to sort the data on your document template output to make it easier to read.

Sub Project Templates > Drawings Tab. Create a list of drawings or documents that would be created for each Sub Project Template. The drawing details are copied into the Drawing Register when the Sub Project Template is added to the project, or the details can be copied into the Project Drawing Register.

Sub Project Templates > General Tab. Choose a default drawing number prefix, which will be applied to each of the drawings copied into the Project Drawing Register.

System Settings

Documents > Drawing Register Settings. Define which fields are mandatory within the project drawing register, and the format of the drawing number.

Documents > Transmittals Settings. Define the format of the transmittal number, and choose if the transmittals approval workflow will be enabled for your company.

Alerts > Transmittals. Enable transmittal alerts to see in the My Synergy plugin when transmittals are awaiting project manager approval, are declined, or have been approved but not yet sent.

Tools > User Settings > Links. Support added for MS Outlook® 2013 to be used with the Synergy Outlook plugin.

Tools > Office Settings > Invoicing. The option 'Same as Original Invoice' has been removed from the 'Credit Number Source' drop down list if not in use in the Synergy database. Existing clients that have this Invoicing option selected will continue to have access to this feature. However new clients or existing clients that did not have this option selected will no longer see this option in the drop down list.

System Settings > All tabs. The speed to open System Settings when using Windows 8 has been enhanced. System settings opens automatically in 32 bit mode to ensure it runs quickly on both 32 and 64 bit computers.

Connect

Connect > Xero Connect Wizard. Define which the invoice, credit note, payment, and expense settings that will be used to transfer the Synergy data to Xero. In addition determine if Payments will be imported to Synergy from Xero.

Connect > Xero Connect Report. View the details of what was sent to Xero in each Connect sync, and what settings were chosen in the Xero Connect Wizard.

Database

Synergy Server. Support added for the Synergy server to use MS Server 2012 (Foundation, Essentials, Standard, or Datacenter editions), and MS SQL Express 2012.

Download Help Files. This option has been removed from the Download Menu. This is no longer required as the help files are accessed via a web browser and the latest version does not need to be downloaded to the Synergy server.

Download the latest version. The location of where the Synergy file is downloaded from has changed from this version. The process to download and install the Synergy upgrade remains the exactly same.

Download the latest .msi installer. New option in the File > Database menu to download the MSI installer and save the file to your desktop. This allows the Administrators to perform a silent install of Synergy on the desktop PC's using the .msi installer file.

Login. After the database connection has been updated to a new Synergy Server location, all users are able to login to Synergy.

Deloitte Practice Performance Survey. The Deloitte Benchmarking Tool has been renamed from Profit Enhancement Tool (PET) to Practice Performance Survey.
