Sub Project Templates List displays a list of the existing templates available for use within a Project. Use the list to add new templates, copy existing templates, and change the sort order of the templates shown within the Project.
Define the following details for each Sub Project Template: General Tab, Rates Tab, Team Tab, Tasks Tab, Budget Tab and Drawings Tab. These details are copied to the project when the sub project template is used. The template details can be amended in the Project after the Sub Project template has been added.

Within the Project a copy feature exists for sub projects, which allows you to copy an existing sub project to create a new one. This is the alternate method to using Sub Project Templates. This means that once a sub project is added to the project (i.e. the disciplines, rate groups and cost centres have been set), you can copy it and then rename it. Rather than creating a separate template for a set of sub project when the discipline, cost centre or rate group information is different, try using the following method:
 .
.| Sub project name | Properties |
|---|---|
| Sydney Structural fixed fee | Cost centre: NSW; Discipline: Structural; Rate Group: Sydney |
| Sydney Civil fixed fee | Cost centre: NSW; Discipline: Civil; Rate Group: Sydney |
| Darwin Structural fixed fee | Cost centre: NT; Discipline: Structural; Rate Group: Darwin |
| Perth Hydraulic fixed fee | Cost centre: WA; Discipline: Hydraulic; Rate Group: Perth |
| Borders fixed fee | Cost centre: AU; Discipline: Shared services; Rate Group: Borders |
Tip: There isn't any reference to project stages such as Design and Documentation, as the names would be added to the sub project once attached to the project

Change a Sub Project to be inactive to remove it from the Sub Project Templates selection window within the Project. Making a template inactive keeps a record of the template in Synergy. View the inactive templates using the inactive list filter. Making a template inactive provides the option to re-activate the template at a future date if it is required again.
