Drawing Templates

Rows are added to the drawing template for commonly created drawings or documents. The rows added here can be copied to any Project or Sub Project. The details entered in the template can be amended after they are copied into the drawing register.

Any row can be edited to update any of the columns to have new details. I.e. Type a new Drawing Title, or select a new File Type.

The changes made will appear in the Copy rows from Drawing Templates feature for the Project Drawing Register. The changes will not update any existing rows already copied into the Project Drawing Register.

Remove any unsaved changes to drawing template rows by pressing the Undo button in the toolbar.

Or you can press the refresh button in the toolbar, and the list will also update to show all the latest saved data.

Remove a template row to make it not available to be copied into to the Project Drawing Register.

1. Select the row in the list.
2. Click the delete button in the toolbar.
3. The list will refresh to show the row has been deleted.

Change a row to be inactive, to keep the history of the row but stop it from being available to copy into the Project Drawing Register.

1. Uncheck the 'active' box for each row you want to hide.
2. Repeat this for each row that should be 'inactive'.
3. Save .

Use the filter located in the top right corner of the toolbar to change what drawing template rows are shown in the list. The available options are:

1. AllBoth active and inactive drawing template rows are shown in the list.
2. ActiveOnly active drawing template rows are shown.
3. InactiveOnly inactive drawing template rows are shown.

1. PrefixSelect a prefix to be used to create the drawing number. If this if left as 'From Sub Project' the drawing number prefix will default to the drawings added from the Sub Project. If a prefix is selected, then this will be used instead of the Sub Project default prefix.
2. NumberSelect the drawing number to be used with the prefix selected. If this field is left as zero, then the system will use the next available drawing number for the prefix selected. Type an alternate number into this field, if you want to customise the drawings to have an alternate numbering sequence.
3. TitleType a name for the drawing or document that will be created. This is a description of the drawing to be created and can be different to the name of the file that will be stored in the Project Document Library.
4. Document TypeSelect the type of document that will be created from the list. This is a category label used for grouping rows in the drawing register together. I.e. Mechanical, Architectural, Engineering etc.
5. File TypeSelect the file type that will be created. I.e. PDF, DOCX, XLSX etc.
6. SizeSelect the size of the drawing or document. I.e. A4, A3, Letter etc.
7. ScaleSelect the scale of the drawing. i.e. 1:1, 1:100 etc.
8. NoteType a note to describe the drawing or document to be created. This note will be copied into the Project Drawing Register.
9. ActiveUncheck the active box to make the drawing template row inactive. Inactive rows are not available to be copied into the Project Drawing Register. New drawing template rows are all marked as active by default.
