When creating a contract variation you will be required to specify the reason for the variation. The standard list that appears in the drop down list can be added to. Reason descriptions can also appear on the variation document that is generated when the variation is converted to a Contract Sum Adjustment.

Active or Not Active
If a reason code has been used in one or more contracts, it cannot be deleted from the list. To prevent it being used in future contracts, deactivate the reason code by un-checking the Active box then Save.
