Register Contract Defects
The Defects module is used to maintain a register of all defects that have occurred
on the Contract. Each Defect created is assigned an automatically generated number.
A defect may have a monetary value assigned to it or not.
Tip: Not seeing the Contract Administration module? Contact Total Synergy Support to request this to be added to your Synergy licence.
New defect
Complete the following steps
- Select New.
- Specify the date reported.
- Assign a status.
- Fill in the reported by.
- Specify the location of the defect.
- Enter the subject of the defect.
- Type in the description.
- Assign a defect amount (optional).
- Save and Close.
- Click to create an instruction to correct defects.
Change the defect status
- Double click the defect you wish to update.
- Select a new status from the status drop down list.

Save and Close.
Create an instruction from a defect
- Click .
- Fill in the Contract Instruction form.

Save.
- Click to mark the Instruction as Issued (you can then create the MS Word® document).
- Select YES to confirm.
- Save and Close.
Create an instruction and variation
- Click .
- Fill in the Contract Instruction form.
- Save.
- Click to create a Variation.
- Select YES to confirm.
- Click Ok to the next message.
- Save and Close.
- Go to the Variation tab to finalise the quote and variation.
