MYOB Connect upgrade procedures

It is very important that the following steps be carried out to ensure the synchronisation between Synergy and MYOB AccountRight is not compromised after upgrading MYOB AccountRight.

Tips:

A) Upgrade Synergy 

If you have not already upgraded Synergy it's advisable you do this before upgrading MYOB, this way you can continue to use Synergy Connect and upgrade MYOB when you're ready. Where as if you upgrade MYOB first, you will need to ensure Synergy is upgraded immediately after, as the existing version of MYOB Connect may not work with the new MYOB ODBC driver that will be installed when you upgrade MYOB.

B) Uninstall all existing MYOB ODBC drivers 

This essentially is the most important part, if any part of the existing MYOB ODBC driver remains, the synchronisation will not work. Follow these steps on each PC that process invoices and payments using MYOB Connect. 

If the MYOB upgrade is a compliance upgrade only, uninstall of the ODBC driver is not required. Please advance to the next step.

These instructions have been provided by MYOB - please refer to their site for more information. To Troubleshoot and find out more about the correct version of ODBC click here as you may not need to upgrade the ODBC if you are not upgrading MYOB. This is important even if you have already upgraded MYOB.

Already upgraded MYOB? Proceed to D) 

C) MYOB AccountRight installation  

During the installation of MYOB, the latest version of MYOB ODBC driver will not be installed.

D) Check the MYOB version 

Check there is only 1 version of ODBC on the PC and that it's the right version.

E) Update Connect settings

Before you run the sync you must change your Connect settings, as 1 or more parts of the setup would have been affected by the MYOB Upgrade.
