Learn what settings to alter for VPN users before upgrading Synergy to the latest version.

VPN users

When PCs upgrade they connect to the office that the Synergy database resides in, detects if a new version is available and then upgrades Synergy. The upgrade files are then downloaded to each PC to be installed. If you are accessing Synergy via VPN and have a slow internet connection, you can complete the following steps to upgrade Synergy on the PC. These steps avoid having Synergy download the installation files.

Manually copy the setup.exe from the head office server

1. Perform the Upgrade of the database on the server as per the instructions.
2. Locate the Synergy directory on the database server e.g. \\server01\data\Synergy.
3. Open the Client Installer folder.
4. Open the 4.9.10 folder.
5. Copy the setup.exe to the VPN PC.
6. Double click the Setup.exe.
7. Re-install Synergy Practice Management on the PC.

Tip: If this is a satellite office situation, use the one setup.exe that has been copied to the VPN PC to install on all other PCs within the satellite office.
