Drill in to Transactions

 

When viewing timesheets and expenses at the project or sub project form, you can now click through to the item.

64bit PCs

 

The Synergy.Net client will now run on 64bit machines.  This is a non-supported feature.

Project Number Configuration

 

There is improved flexibility with project numbers. You can now extend, shorten or have a variable length prefix, include a divider character between the name and number, and have a higher or lower maximum number and turn off the '0' padding with the number.

Examples are:  08-999; SY-08.999; SY08999; SYTS08.999; 08-999999; TSY.1

Search

This is one step better than running a report - the columns are added based on the attribute search on

 

You can now search using attributes in the projects modules. This is under the advanced search options.

When using this search, the found attributes will also show on the grid, so projects can appear more than once.

The example show filtering only active jobs to display the 'Completion Date attribute' value

Attribute reports

 

The attribute columns have now been added to most of the project, sub project, transaction, contact, personnel and staff reports.  This is useful if you are utilising an attribute to store the overall project director or want to see the market sector of a particular project.  This extends attribute reporting beyond the Project Attribute report.

Archived projects

 

All timesheet and expenses module entries are viewable against an archived project. 

Staff utilisation and timesheet reports now show timesheets against archived projects.

New format for invoicing

 

Invoices can now be created using a form that is similar to the final invoice view rather than the existing wizard style.

ACTION: 'Use the invoice wizard for creating new invoices'.  To change the way that invoices are created go to Tools :: System Setting :: select the invoices tab :: clear the option 

New Aged WIP Report

 

A new Aged WIP report is available showing the value of un-billed transactions grouped in aging buckets: 0-30, 31-60, 61-90 and 90+ day periods.

 

 

 

 


PROJECTS MODULE

Project audit

 

 

 

 

When changing the primary or invoice contact on a project a record of the change is stored in the project audit.

Transactions

 

 

 

 

The 'Transactions' tab on the projects has been re-named to 'Time and Expenses'.

Sub Projects

 

 

Specified rates

 

When using sub project specific rates, the current standard rate will display in the grid as a reference.

 

 

Specific rates can now be earlier than system start date.

Sorting

 

Sub project sorting is faster and is now performed using a new pop-up window. The window allows the user to set the order of the sub projects and then save or cancel the changes.

WIP Transfer

 

 

Select all

 

'Select All' button has been added to the WIP Transfer module.

Sub Projects

 

 

Default view

 

When opening a project that is complete or unsuccessful, the default view for the sub projects is all so that complete and unsuccessful sub projects are visible.

Adding when project has a draft invoice

 

Fixed the issue where users could add sub project to a project when a DRAFT invoice was attached to the project. This would cause an error and the added sub project would not appear as available for invoicing.

The upgrade will fix any sub projects that are not available for invoicing, and sub project (including templates) cannot be used when DRAFT invoices exist on the project.

Budgets

 

Fixed the issue when entering budgets on a sub project and 'Save and Close' is selected on the project and not 'Save budget' is selected that would result in the budget either being saved or locked.

Status change

 

When marking a project as complete, the unsuccessful sub projects now remain as unsuccessful and are not changed to complete.

Sub Templates

 

Sub Project templates now default to Tax Inclusive.

Project documents

 

 

Proposal documents are now able to be produced when the project is active if there is proposal sub projects.

Proposal

 

After creating a proposal from the project, the project is now active and not locked.

 

 

Sub project on the proposal document now show in the correct sub project order.

 

 

Fixed the rendering issue when generating a project proposal, the "Select the lines..." text was cut off.

Attributes

 

 

Data Entry

 

The data entry of attributes has been improved, now all active attributes show on the grid, and the user can enter multiple attribute values without having to save between entries.

Date Attributes

 

Date attributes now default to the current date when added.

Invoicing

 

 

Search

 

When searching for invoices, the date period defaults to last month.

Paid / cancelled

 

Paid and cancelled invoices are now separate views in the invoices or project invoices modules.

Bookmarks

 

New bookmarks split up the different name parts of the invoice "attention to".

Phases

 

Phases are displayed correctly now during the invoicing wizard.

Zero value

 

Zero value invoices can now be generated, previously they would remain with the status of DRAFT but would have an invoice number assigned.

Draft held

 

In the last upgrade, some cancelled invoices become DRAFT and vice versa, during the update these invoices are detected and fixed.

Custom payment terms

 

You can now change the invoice terms to be a custom day number as per version 3.

1cent rounding

 

Fixed the issue that when clicking the invoice as paid in full, on the payment screen the owing would appear as $0.01.

Payment

 

When entering payments and tabbing through the date and amount, the values no longer disappear if they are left blank.

1cent rounding

 

Fixed the issue that prevented the write off of 1c when the invoice total was paid except for 1c.

Specific rates

 

Resolved issue where specific rates were not being used when the units or charge was changed during the billing wizard.

Write offs

 

Fixed the 1c rounding issue when writing off invoice amounts.

Notes

 

 

Message notes

 

You can no longer set a note reminder in the past.

Export to excel

 

When exporting notes to excel, the note column now exports correctly.

Standard notes

 

A reminder error no longer appears for new notes.

Sub project notes

 

Sub Project notes now show at the project level as well as at the sub project.

Archiving

 

 

Search

 

Archive searching now has the same search options as the main projects module.

 

 

Fixed the archiving issues for projects that would result in a ’r;Column name or number of supplied values does not match table’ error.

Expenses (Invoice/Bills)

Show all projects

 

The default for project selection when disbursing an expense is to show all projects.

Modify expense

 

Now able to modify a disbursed line on the expenses window buy changing the selected project/sub project and then re-saving the disbursement line.

Expense

 

When selecting the rate for an office expense, the arrow keys now function as expected to select an item from the list.

Office Items

 

 

 

 

The project selection now defaults to all projects when adding a new office item expense.


TIMESHEETS AND EXPENSES

Timesheets and Expenses

Timesheet

 

A warning is now shown when navigating away from a timesheet that it has not been saved, or when changing to a different view in the timesheet module.

Project sort

 

The sort order on the project selection is now correct when changing between the project number and project reference views.

Uncheck complete

 

Fixed the bug where un-ticking the timesheet day appeared to do nothing.

Select date

 

Clicking on the date in timesheets to go backwards no longer caused the date to drop back to 1793.

History

 

Fixed the issue that prevents weekly history from being used to add new timesheets.

Expense Travel

 

Notes are no longer mandatory for travel expenses.

Note text

 

Fixed the issue where the note text is cut off when entering text in the weekly view.

Unallocated costs

 

Project manager notification now works when the Unallocated Costs sub project is used.

Approvals

 

 

Approve all

 

The approve all button now functions correctly.

Approval note

 

The expanded view of the notes is now available by clicking the icon in the approvals wizard.

<Office> times

 

Office timesheets can be unlocked for editing after it is approved by an administrator.

There is an unlock icon on the menu that is only active for office items.


CONTACTS

Contacts

 

 

Generate letter

 

When generating a fax or letter from a contact and there is no personnel selected, either the manager for a company contact or the linked personnel record is selected as the default recipient.

Personnel

 

If two personnel exist with the same name but different active states, you can now update the personnel records without any errors.


REPORTS

Look and Feel

 

 

Payroll

 

The default column widths for the Payroll report have been modified to better format the report.

Staff Utilisation

 

New columns added to the staff utilisation report to allow the sorting by family name.

Transaction reports

 

New Staff Charge and Overhead Cost fields have been added to the staff remuneration and the transaction summary/performance/WIP reports.

The new fields are only visible for Administrators, Directors and System Administrators.

 

 

There is a new report called 'Invoices and Credits' that shows invoices and credits as  separate  lines, this allows a report to be generated for a time period to show the total of all invoices and credits applied during that period.

Filters

 

 

Contact Summary

 

Fixed issue when using a classification filter on 'Contact Summary Report'.

Staff

 

Fixed issue with the staff report when using attributes as filters and the attributes not showing as custom columns.

Invoice

 

The invoice filter 'IS NOT Cancelled' now correctly removes cancelled invoices.

Staff timesheets

 

The staff timesheets now have the default sort of Staff Name and then Date.

Contact Expense disbursement

 

Fixed the error 'Contact Expense Disbursement' report that would result in an 'Ambiguous column name dCounter' message.

Expense (invoice/bills)

 

The project number filter on the expense (Invoice/Bills) report now functions correctly.

Staff reports

 

Fixed the attribute IS NOT SET filter option on staff reports.

General

 

 

 

 

New reporting date filtering options for "# days ago", "less than # days ago" and "is between # and # days ago".

 

 

Fixed the transaction filter 'Transaction Invoice Date' on all reports that use it.

 

 

Report title no longer gets truncated when larger than 100 characters.

Utilisation report

 

Staff utilisation report now shows correct values when the staff member has zero utilised hours.

 

 

Fixed the calculation on actual costs, the upgrade fixes the previously calculated cost values.


ADMINISTRATION TOOLS

Document Templates

Proposal

 

New bookmarks for the Proposal Fee Table for the total hours, total budget and line number in the sub project header.

 

 

Invoice fee table examples no longer show in proposal templates.

Letter

 

When generating a letter and the selected recipient has a street but no post address, the street address is automatically selected.

Project document

 

The project directory bookmark now correctly displays on letter documents.

Invoice

 

Invoice templates no longer open to internet explorer when generated.

General

 

Fixed the bookmark for 'Project Manager' to not include the salutation.

 

 

When sending an invoice to Microsoft Word 2000 the 'DISP_E_BADVARTYPE' error message no longer occurs.

 

 

When deleting a template in synergy, the document will be also deleted in the shared Synergy\Templates folder.

 

 

Fixed the bookmark creation on project documents so that if one fails (or gives a warning) the process continues and tries to add the remaining bookmarks.

 

 

When selecting multiple bookmarks they no longer appear in reverse order when added to the document template

 

 

The template document name and template name no longer need to be the same

Application Security

 

 

Enhanced the logged in users screen to include an explanation of the license usage for the logged in users

Director access

 

Director level of access can now see the financial controls and all the same modules as in version 3

Ass. Project Manager

 

Assistant Project Managers now can see the icon to launch the explorer link to the project folders

User access

 

Users can now no longer open sub projects

Outlook add-in

 

Fixed the issue where if all licenses are used, and a user that was logged in tried to log in to the outlook add-in they would be denied

View actuals

 

Fixed the reporting budgets and actuals setting when creating a new security access record so that it can be edited only by the System Administrator

Data Type

 

Attribute types can be changed as long as the attribute has not been used

Default view

 

When opening the attributes maintenance screen the default view is now "Active"

Foreign Currency

 

There are now sample currency symbols to choose from in the currency maintenance module

Success Probability factor

 

Changing the 0% and 100% proposal success factors no longer be edited, but the description can be changed


PRACTICE

All Rates

 

 

WIP Calculation

 

Fixed the performance issues when changing a rate that has WIP, and also now prevent the rate from being duplicated when the save button is pressed multiple times during the WIP update.

 

 

Fixed the spelling for the progress windows when backdating rate changes

Sort Rates

 

Rate sorting now functions correctly in the 'Rates All' module

General

 

Fixed the spelling for the 'Charge/Unit' column in the 'All Rates' module, also fixed the spelling when inactivating a standard rate that is attached to a staff member, the word "member" was spelt incorrectly

 

 

Inactive rates no longer show when viewing only active rates

Staff

 

 

Formal title

 

Fixed the column heading spelling for 'Formal Title'

Staff rate

 

Inactive staff rates are no longer available for selection on the staff maintenance screen

There is now an option to register the Office Add-ins using administrator rights

New options available for address formatting.  You can now nominate double spaces between the town, state and postcode, and you can have the town on a separate line

Payment export

 

Fixed the MYOB Payment export error when the payment note had multiple lines

Fixed the error "attempted to read or write protected memory" when sending payments to MYOB Premier 11 or Accounting plus 16 (or higher) and the note field on the payment was blank.

Card ID

 

Fixed the issue with the "Required" check box not being available for selection when the ”r;use contact Card ID” option is selected in the MYOB Connect settings

Progress Payments

 

Fixed the incorrect calculations in the Progress Payments Certificates

RFI

 

RFI numbering now longer stops at 10, and the sort order is now correct when more than 10 RFI's are used

Contacts

 

When adding contractors and sub contracts the list of available contacts is now sorted alphabetically

Contract instructions

 

Fixed the issue for contract instructions when the last item was selected, the delete button is pressed and the first item was deleted

New contracts

 

New contracts can no longer be created against the <Office> project


GENERAL

Framework

 

Added tooltips to all timesheet columns so that if the value is cut off, hovering will show the full text

Application display

 

Fixed the display issue on the connection settings window for some notebooks

Connection to database

 

When switching connection profiles the database connection is refreshing correctly when exiting the connection wizard

Search dates

 

The date on the search screen now defaults to last month

Sort columns

 

Grids now retain the previous sort selection when refreshing the data

Numerical keypad

 

When pressing '.' in a numerical grid cell, it no longer ignores the decimal place
