Export to Excel 2016

Problem

Synergy appears to stop responding when exporting a report to Excel 2016, or Excel 2016 does not open with the report results that were exported.

Solution

In Excel 2016 the default number of sheets for a new file was changed from 3 to be 1.

Change this Excel setting is altered back to be 3, then the Synergy reports can be run or exported to Excel.

Change the default number of worksheets by:

  1. Open Excel 2016.
  2. On the file menu select the 'option' button.
  3. On the general tab locate the group of settings called 'when creating new workbooks'.
  4. Change the value for the 'include this many sheets' to be 3.
  5. Click OK, to save this setting change.

Making this change will affect all new workbooks created, but have no impact on any existing workbooks. Re-run any Synergy reports or Excel exports required.
