An updated document template engine was introduced to Synergy in the 4.9.1 release, to help users build more complicated documents quickly. This new engine will be used for any document templates saved with the DOCX file extension, and creates the document templates quicker for templates that include many document tables or a lot of Synergy data bookmarks. Try this on your Proposal, Invoice or Transmittal documents that have these tables included to see the faster speed of document creation. The DOCX format can be applied to any Synergy document template type.
In releases prior to the 4.9.1 release all document templates were saved as either DOT or DOTX format - Word Template format. Use the new conversion method outlined below to automatically update you template to the Word Document format DOCX.
Tip: The file format DOCX is only supported in MS Word® 2010 or higher.
Switch your existing Synergy document templates over to the new faster format of DOCX using a tool built into the Action menu. This convert tool will save you time by automatically create a DOCX copy of the existing template file and save the file to the Synergy templates folder.
